Love, Joy, Peace...

Our Church

Located in the heart of Payne County, Mehan Church is just northwest of Ripley, OK.  We are a short 15 mile drive from Stillwater, Cushing, Perkins and Yale.

Mehan Church was started in the 1940s in the rural community of Mehan.  Known then as Mehan Sunday school, the church met in the Mehan Community Center until the signature "A" Fram church could be built.  Since then, many additions have been added, including a beautiful Sanctuary, which has been host to several community weddings and funerals.

But what stands out the most is the people.  Every Sunday you will find founding members worshipping alongside our newest and youngest members.  This truly is a family church where generations worship together.  Even our current pastor is the grandson-in-law of one of our founding members.
If you are looking, not just for a church attend, but a family to worship with, we would love for you to join us this Sunday.  Worship begins at 10:45am.  We will save a seat for you.

Our Pastor

Toby Tiner - Lead Pastor

Toby grew up in South East Texas.  It was there that he was first introduced to his wife Rebekah while serving with her father at First Baptist Church Port Arthur.  They were married in 2004 and now have 7 amazing children.  In 2006, Toby and Rebekah left Texas on a journey through Kansas and Missouri until they came to Mehan Union Church in May 2017.  For Rebekah, this was a homecoming as her mother grew up attending Mehan Union Church and her father grew up in Perkins, OK.

Toby received his Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2019.  He has served the church throughout his life as a lay leader, youth minister, church planter, and now as a Pastor.  Apart from being a pastor, husband, homeschool dad, and Dallas Cowboy fan, Toby works with the local Trail Life USA Troop OK-0716 and loves to hunt, especially bow hunting.

Our Worship Minister

Steve Foust

After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Steve began leading worship at OSU's Campus Ministry, the Backdoor Chapel.  This humble beginning opened up a calling on Steve's life to lead God's children, young and old, to God's throne in worship and eventually led to Mehan Church.  Along the way, Steve has served several local fellowships in and around Stillwater.  Steve has been the worship leader at Mehan off and on since 1997.  Always remembering his rich hymn heritage and looking forward to new musical opportunities, Steve leads us with a heart for God and his Kingdom.

Steve is also a retired audio engineer from the Music Department at Oklahoma State University and enjoys recording music that he has composed and music written and sung by others.  He also restores vintage Chevy pickups.  Steve lives out in the county with his wife Vickie where he owns and operates Sonic Shores Studio and Invisibleman Records.
